New "Juice Feasting" Emerging as Phytonutrient-Rich Disease-Fighting Nutritional System

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger

I've taken lots of nutritional supplements, and I continue to do so, but rarely have I experienced such noticeable health benefits. It's actually difficult to experience noticeable benefits from supplements when you're already on a healthy diet, and I've been eating in a very healthy way for years. But what I learned recently is that Juice Feasting was a step up from my existing healthy diet. It has allowed me to take my personal health to the next level, and now my life is enormously more enjoyable because of it. It's also a whole lot simpler. Eating is really, really simple.

Join the Ron Paul Revolution to Restore Health Freedom to America

All truthful statements about nutritional supplements are presently censored! (It's a way to protect Big Pharma and keep the American people ignorant about how plant-based medicines can prevent and even cure degenerative disease.) If elected, Ron Paul would work to restore genuine health freedom in this country, giving consumers access to accurate, scientifically-validated information about how cherries can ease arthritis inflammation, for example, or how pomegranates can prevent prostate cancer, or how broccoli sprouts can prevent breast cancer.

Paul believes that patients should have open access to scientifically accurate information about the usefulness of natural remedies and nutritional supplements. This just goes to prove that not all doctors are idiots! In fact, as I've stated in every article I've written that's critical of doctors, many of the strongest advocates for health freedom are, in fact, doctors.

If you're serious about creating new results in 2008, consider some of the following ingredients that are required to create better results: 150+ hours of physical exercise (over the entire year) 150+ hours of time in nature (including sunshine to boost vitamin D) 300+ hours of reading (minimum) 300+ hours of acquiring new skills (learning) 365 superfood smoothies or fresh, raw juice drinks (see The Secret of Juice Feasting) 1,095 nutritional supplements (that's 3 per day, every day of the year) to enhance longevity, protect the nervous system, eliminate nutritional deficiencies and more.

At the Pfeiffer Treatment Center, located in the Chicago suburb of Warrenville, doctors are researching the use of nutritional supplements to treat severe mood and behavioral disorders, including extreme anger, destructive behavior, and criminal violence. Staff at the center conduct a thorough nutritional and biochemical workup of patients and then prescribe a customized nutritional supplement regimen. In an analysis of 207 randomly selected patients, the center's scientific director, William Walsh, Ph.D.
Those changes might include recognizing and changing bad behavior, modifying eating habits, taking nutritional supplements, and improving other aspects of your lifestyle. Anger and Physical Violence Feelings of anger encompass a wide range of negative and hostile feelings toward other people, as well as toward institutions (such as the government or political parties).
Psychological Tips Many therapies can help to reduce feelings of depression, and combining them with dietary changes and nutritional supplements will improve your chances of recovery. Redirect your negative self-talk. Depressed people are often very self-critical. When they make a mistake or fail to finish a task, they whip themselves with such negative thoughts as, "I can't do anything right" or "What's wrong with me?" Change your negative self-talk into something positive, such as, "I'm going to take the time to do this right." Talk therapies.

TAKE THE RIGHT SUPPLEMENTS TO SUPPORT, NOT SABOTAGE, YOUR HORMONE BALANCE ver the last several years, I have researched and tested hordes of nutritional supplements. My goal has been to identify those supplements that could positively influence estrogen metabolism. I have found a select group of supplements that will enhance healthy hormone balance and thus promote weight loss and weight management. These are described below. Calcium D-Glucarate Calcium D-glucarate is a natural substance that promotes the body's detoxification process and supports hormonal balance.

Some nutritional medicine centers, such as the Pfeiffer Treatment Center and the Health Recovery Center (see appendix), have had great success in treating addictions by customizing nutritional supplements to patients' individual needs. These treatments rely heavily on the use of amino acid supplements. Because of the seriousness of alcohol and drug abuse, I encourage you to work with a nutritionally oriented health care professional. Let's look at them next, keeping in mind that there's more to alternative treatments than drugs and nutritional supplements. We've already seen how exercise and sleep can play roles in improving your health. In the sections that follow, we'll look at additional treatments, ranging from massage to yoga to changes in the diet and even tai chi. Alternative Treatments for Pain People often ask me about three very common alternative treatments for pain: acupuncture, hypnosis, and massage.

If you are diabetic or prediabetic and averse to taking a lot of pills, including nutritional supplements, consider taking alphabetic. This once-a-day vitamin/mineral supplement was formulated for people with prediabetes and diabetes. The overall dosage of ingredients is modest, so it is unlikely to interact with any diabetic medications. (See ordering information in the appendix.) Alpha-lipoic acid. This vitaminlike nutrient has been used for decades in Germany to treat the complications of diabetes. It improves the efficiency of insulin, allowing less of the hormone to do its job.

Then, almost four years after her diagnosis, she decided to try taking potent nutritional supplements in an attempt to slow down the progression of her disease. She started with some strong antioxidant and mineral tablets along with grape-seed extract and a natural nutrient called Coenzyme Q10. Within weeks Evelyn began to feel better. "For the first time in years, I slept through the night and woke up feeling rested," she reports. "I no longer needed a nap during the day, and I didn't have bladder or bowel problems. I experienced an increase in my endurance level.

WHICH nutritional supplements OR VITAMINS CAN HELP CURB MY SUGAR CRAVINGS? Of course, results can't be guaranteed, and you should consult first with your physician, but specialists suggest a number of supplements that they believe can help ward off intense sugar desires. Make sure to pick supplements that contain no sweeteners, because some companies add sugars as fillers. And bear in mind that supplements haven't been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and they're not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Without saying these products are absolutely bogus, I can at least point to the historical track record. nutritional supplements of one kind or another have always existed, and we've all heard about cure-alls of the past that were later debunked. The old rule of buyer beware is even more important when your health hangs in the balance. In addition to companies selling hope, there are doctors who do the same thing. They make promises of wellness tied to easy (and/or expensive) cures. If the solution to your illness were "easy," you would not be sick now.

While probably 98% of doctors remains nutritionally illiterate and hopelessly brainwashed by Big Pharma into believing that drugs are the only answer to disease, there are a few outstanding, brilliant doctors who are interested in promoting what really works: Superfoods, disease prevention, high-grade nutritional supplements and natural healing modalities. If you believe in freedom and you want to support a candidate that will actually work to restore it, Ron Paul is the only sensible choice for the next U.S. President.

I knew he was only joking, and I appreciated his genuine interest in nutritional supplements. Since there is little doubt that the underlying cause of cataracts and macular degeneration is oxidative stress, I believe that we must be nothing short of aggressive in our supplementation program. After all, there really is no other effective treatment for ARMD and many patients could avoid needing cataract surgery altogether. Can such a simple solution offer any better results than that?
When she told him about the nutritional supplements she'd been trying, he was impressed. Not only had she tolerated her treatments well, but she had responded so well to them. Kymberly continues to thrive. It has been more than three years since she finished her chemotherapy. Her hair has come back beautifully, and she is enjoying life. Her CA 125 blood counts have remained normal, and she is now having them checked only twice a year. Kymberly has had no sign of recurrence of her cancer.
One of the principles you will hear me stress over and over is the fact that if you choose to use nutritional supplements, you must supplement a good diet, not a bad one. The first step toward building a strong immune system is to eat a high-fiber, low-fat diet largely made up of fruits and vegetables. But we need more to practice chemoprevention. Medical research is beginning to demonstrate that taking antioxidants in supplementation to our diet is very important in chemoprevention.
Jim, if you feel this strongly about the subject, why do you take nutritional supplements?' "'Well,' Jim replied, just in case I am wrong.'" Wayne did not go on disability and is back to working full time. His first visit to my office occurred more than four years ago. My friend is now able to do all that he wants to physically and his follow-up echocardiograms continue to show that his ejection fraction is normal. Let me assure you, though, that Wayne's heart has not been "cured." He still has cardiomyopathy.

After all, people who were violent as free citizens are likely to be violent when they're incarcerated. Yet nutritional supplements and dietary improvements have been found to reduce in-prison violence and rule breaking. In a study of California inmates, researchers found that prisoners with up to four nutritional deficiencies were 50 percent more likely to be involved in serious violent incidents, and those with five to nine nutrient deficiencies were 90 percent more likely to be involved in violent acts.

Hundreds of clinical studies looking at heart disease report a significant health benefit with the use of nutritional supplements. Let's now look at each individual nutrient and see what its particular role is in slowing down or preventing this inflammatory reaction. Vitamin E Vitamin E is the most important antioxidant when it comes to hindering the process of hardening of the arteries. The main reason vitamin E provides such a powerful defense is the fact that it is fat-soluble, making it the most potent antioxidant within the cell wall.

Blurring the line to scare consumers But conventional medicine researchers try to blur the line between "junk vitamins" and "quality vitamins" by classifying all nutritional supplements as "vitamins," regardless of what they're really made from. By discrediting a few synthetic chemicals, they can effectively dissuade the masses from taking ANY vitamins, including the good ones.

Most women who are perimenopausal can feel comfortable starting on their own with the diet, exercise, herbs, nutritional supplements, and natural progesterone creams described in this chapter for the relief of menopause symptoms. Women who do not find adequate relief from these therapies will need to see a licensed primary care provider (naturopathic doctor, medical doctor, osteopathic doctor, nurse-practitioner, or physician's assistant) who preferably is educated in the range of options, not just conventional HRT.

On the other hand, the efficiency of absorption of beta-carotene from beta-carotene-containing nutritional supplements can be as high as 70% or more. In foods, beta-carotene exists either as a solution in oil (e.g., red palm oil) or as part of a matrix within the vegetable or fruit. For example, in carrots, beta-carotene exists in a complex matrix, comprised of indigestible polysaccharides, digestible polysaccharides and protein. Only a small percentage of beta-carotene is released from the matrix during the passage of foods such as carrots, through the gastrointestinal tract.
In any case, all-trans carotene, as found in nutritional supplements, should be converted according to the first system. That is, two micrograms of all-trans carotene are equal to one microgram of all-trans retinol (vitamin A) or 3.33 IU. ACTIONS AND PHARMACOLOGY ACTIONS Beta-carotene may have antioxidant activity. It may also have immunomodulatory, anticarcinogenic and antiatherogenic activities in some cases. MECHANISM OF ACTION Beta-carotene has been found to have antioxidant activity in vitro.
Folic acid is a synthetic folate form which is used for food fortification and nutritional supplements. It is not one of the principal naturally occurring forms of folate, used in the collective sense. The naturally occurring forms of folate differ in the extent of the reduction state of the pteroyl group, the nature of the substituents on the pteridine ring and the number of glutamyl residues attached to the pteroyl group.
DESCRIPTION Bentonite is occasionally used in nutritional supplements as a source of trace minerals. It is a type of clay, the major constituent of which is a hydrated aluminum silicate called montmorillonite. Minor constituents found in bentonite include calcium, magnesium and iron. Bentonite is found in certain areas of the United States and Canada. Wyoming bentonite, found in Wyoming and South Dakota, contains sodium and is composed of alternating layers of aluminum oxide and silicon dioxide. It is also known as sodium montmorillonite.
The 30 subjects, aged 19 to 29, all had normal testosterone levels and were not taking nutritional supplements or anabolic steroids at baseline. Nor were they, at the outset, engaged in resistance training. Subjects were randomized to receive 300 milligrams of androstenedione daily or placebo and, concurrently, entered an eight-week program of whole-body resistance. The researchers found that androstenedione exerted no effect on serum free and total testosterone levels. Nor was there any difference in lean body mass between those taking the steroid and those receiving placebo.
No interactions with nutritional supplements, food or herbs are known. OVERDOSAGE There are no reports of overdosage with oral, supplemental NAC. There are reports of overdosage when using intravenous NAC for treatment of acetaminophen poisoning. Symptoms of overdosage are similar to those of anaphylaxis (rash, pruritis, flushing, nausea, vomiting, angioedema, tachycardia, bronchospasm, hypotension, hypertension, ECG abnormalities) but have been more severe. Hypotension appears to be a major symptom of overdosage.
