Taking the right nutritional supplements and herbs improves the picture even more.
Some 90 percent of adult-onset or Type 2 diabetes, also known as non-insulin-dependent diabetes, is caused by poor diet, obesity, and lack of exercise. Three-quarters of those diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes can avoid insulin injections and other drugs by losing weight. |

What we need to do is feed our children foods and nutritional supplements that support stable blood sugar, optimum brain function and a positive learning environment. These foods are readily available and our school lunch programs should be serving those foods.
We should also remove cow's milk from school lunch programs. Cow's milk is a terrible source of nutrition for anyone who isn't a cow. While it is outstanding nutrition for baby cows, it is nutritionally freakish when it comes to human nutrition. |

A WORD TO THE WISE
Before you spend money on expensive and exotic herbs and nutritional supplements to try to fortify your immune system, don't try to fortify on top of a toxic system. You would not pour new topsoil over a toxic waste sight and say that now it's okay to plant. Nor, after driving your car 10,000 miles since your last oil change, would it be wise to add clean, fresh oil. It would become instantly contaminated by the old, dirty oil. You would first drain your dirty oil. So, why take expensive nutritional supplements that are only going to go into a toxic system? |

Alpha-lipoic acid is only found in very small amounts in foods, thus nutritional supplements are generally advised for people wishing to increase intake. Amounts commonly recommended range from approximately 100 to 800 mg per day.
HERBALS AND BOTANICALS
What about herbals and botanicals, those supplements that contain extracts or active ingredients from the roots, berries, seeds, stems, leaves, buds, or flowers of plants? Certainly, there has been intriguing research suggesting herbs such as ginseng and gingko can be helpful in reducing blood sugar levels. |

Newsman Dan Rather had just interviewed the commissioner, who had come down rather hard on herbs and nutritional supplements. The producer knew that I held the opposing view: I believed that these products could be cheap, useful, preventive, and therapeutic medicines.
So I not only defended herbs and nutritional supplements, I also criticized the FDA for its labeling requirements. At the time, the agency required manufacturers to spend tens of millions of dollars on research to substantiate label claims on their new drugs. |

The FDA continues to attack and even persecute companies that manufacture and promote nutritional supplements.
There are countless examples of this, but one of the most recent is a company called Lane Labs that was selling a product called MGN-3 which contained medicinal mushrooms well known to boost immune system function and treat cancer in humans. The FDA didn't like this company selling a product that actually worked, so they attacked the company and effectively put it out of business through lawsuits. |
They have never allowed manufacturers of nutritional supplements to make true statements about what those supplements can do for your health. In fact, the FDA battled vigorously against the DSHEA Act in 1994 that finally allowed nutritional supplement manufacturers to make qualified statements on their products, as long as such statements were followed with the quote, "This statement has not been endorsed by the FDA."
We should allow supplement manufacturers to tell the truth about what their products do when it is based on available clinical evidence. |

In addition to avoiding certain foods, I also supplement my diet with a wide array of superfoods, medicinal herbs, vitamins, minerals and nutritional supplements. My favorites are chlorella, spirulina, broccoli sprouts, quinoa, sea vegetables, soy products, and any of the green food powders or fresh vegetables. This is where I get my outstanding nutrition that I firmly believe plays a huge role in my ability to produce outstanding cholesterol numbers. |

The AHA has, for decades, denied any benefit whatsoever from vitamins, minerals or nutritional supplements. In fact it was only grudgingly and reluctantly dragged into the era of nutrition after being confronted with a mountain of undeniable evidence in support of nutrition for heart health.
For decades, the AHA actually prescribed a diet that avoided all heart-healthy oils, such as cod liver oil, salmon oil, fish oils, omega-3 oil, primrose oil and other dietary oils. The AHA told people that consuming any of these oils would increase their risk of heart disease. |

After sufficient health improvement, you may feel that you no longer need most nutritional supplements. With a good maintenance diet, I recommend continuing indefinitely to use the following health foods, or equivalent ones; several teaspoons each of bee pollen, ground linseed, and spirulina or chlorella; half a teaspoon of kelp; and one tablespoon of cod-liver oil (emulsified with lecithin and fresh juice); also some lecithin and magnesium chloride with meals will be helpful. |

While the purpose of chelation is to remove toxic material from the body, the addition of various nutritional supplements can help to correct deficiencies and keep the body as healthy as possible. Therefore, chelation practitioners usually give nutritional supplements along with the therapy.

Choosing a diet (and possibly some nutritional supplements) that will help to balance and support your particular body will optimize your chances for recovery.
The one dietary restriction that is strongly recommended (but not required for Protocel to work) is that anyone using this formula to rid their body of anaerobic cells would do best to reduce their intake of refined sugar and refined wheat flour. This is not because sugar and refined wheat interfere with Protocel's action, however. Rather, it is because all anaerobic cells thrive on sugar. |

That's a shame, because the treatments and cures for virtually all chronic diseases are actually quite simple and can be described in plain language, such as making different food choices, getting more natural sunlight, drinking more water, engaging in regular physical exercise, avoiding specific food toxins, supplementing your diet with superfoods and nutritional supplements and so on.
See, western medicine prefers to describe diseases in terms of chemistry. |

The sources of inulins marketed as nutritional supplements and functional foods are the roots of chicory (Cichorium intybus) and Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus).
Inulins may have antitumor, antimicrobial, hypolipidemic, and hypoglycemic properties. They may also have antiosteoporotic activity, as they appear to help improve mineral absorption and balance.6

Keep in mind the contrast here between how conventional medicines are treated and how nutritional supplements or herbal medicines would be treated. Imagine, for a moment, that the FDA found out that some nutritional supplement or herb caused children to have a 180% increase in suicidal tendencies. Do you think that would be front-page news? You bet it would be! And the FDA would be grabbing headlines around the nation, warning people that herb X was killing their children. The herb would be taken off the market, and inventories would be confiscated. Importation of the herb would be banned. |

You can pay now by investing in things for your health, like a good mattress and sleeping system, good quality air and water filters, good food, good nutritional supplements, and educating yourself with knowledge, or you can pay later with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, major surgeries, sickness, illness, disease, depression, stress, pain, and misery. Folks, think about it. You can pay now—a small amount of time and effort, or you can pay later with a life of misery and pain and an early death. Invest in educating yourself, and invest in things for vour health. |
Are you taking nutritional supplements? Are you taking any nonprescription or prescription drugs?" People don't want to talk about these things. They don't want to change anything. They just want to know the "cure." "What pill can I take? What herb can I take? What can I do to cure my problem?" The answer is you are causing your problem. You can't continue to do everything you are doing exactly the same way and expect a different result. The Chinese definition of insanity is to continue to do the same thing and expect a different result. |

Are you taking nutritional supplements? These are the things that are causing your symptoms, and causing your illness, and causing your disease. There is no magic panacea or cure. Yes, there are some natural things you can do to reduce the symptoms, suppress the symptoms, or eliminate the symptoms on the short term. But if you are not addressing the true cause, these symptoms will come back or manifest themselves in some other way. |
I know that therapies such as energetic medicine, homeopathy, herbs, nutritional supplements and cleansing can help the body heal itself. What standard medicine attempts to do is to look at a person's symptoms, call it a "disease," and then prescribe drugs or surgery to suppress or eliminate the symptom. Unfortunately, medical doctors do not look for the cause; they only attempt to suppress the symptoms. If you simply suppress a symptom, you have not addressed the cause and the person will continue to get sick. |
What they really are is a candy bar with nutritional supplements of vitamins. You could get the same by taking vitamin pills and eating a candy bar.
We reviewed similar ads for "diet aids," which were nothing more than vitamin pills and protein supplements. But the ads are designed to imply that you could eat all the food you wanted. The ad showed women carrying trays of food through the kitchen for a midafternoon get-together, implying that with this aid you could eat all the food you wanted.

Despite our poor diets, why do so many doctors doubt the value of supplements? In part because doctors tend to be skeptical; you have to show me proof, they say, and there isn't enough in all areas for all vitamins—too few studies have been completed. |

Some of these nutrients can be ingested as nutritional supplements. Others come in the form of natural medicinal tonics.
Let's start by looking at particular nutritional supplements, and the roles they can play in cognition. After that, I'll describe natural medicinal tonics that will boost your brain power.
Every day, you should take several key nutrients. Some of these nutrients are in standard multiple vitamins. They may not, however, be present in sufficient quantities in a multiple vitamin to reverse cognitive dysfunction, or to stimulate optimal cognitive function. |
For your convenience, here is a list of the most important nutritional supplements for brain longevity, and a general range of dosages I recommend to many patients, depending on their needs:

Vitamin A.......................................................................10,000-25,000 IU
Vitamin B,2...................................................................100—1.000 meg
Vitamin B6.....................................................................50-200 mg

Following are lists of many foods and nutritional supplements that are believed to help prevent or slow the progression of cancer. While not proven to be cures by themselves, all of them have shown the ability to influence the cancer process. It is very likely, almost certain, that compounding several of these nutrients can create superior effects, due to synergistic action.
I like to incorporate as many of the following nutrients as I can into my daily regimen. I favor the food agents and rotate the nutritional supplements. |
